This antiaircraft gun is one of four guns on I-52. Three were of this type and one a large 5.5inch main deck gun located forward of the conning tower.
This anti-aircraft gun overlooks the engine room of I-52.
Please notice the colony of Anemones that have made one of the anti-aircraft guns their home.
The Mir 2 submersible Paul Tidwell was in landed gently on I-52”s deck next to the anti-aircraft gun, as you see here.
